Lecturer: Li Jibin

Abstract:This talk introduces how to use the theory of dynamical systems and singular traveling wave techniques developed in [Li & Chen, 2007] to understand peakons, periodic peakons, pseudo-peakon and compactons in a lot of models of shallow water wave equations. More than 10 papers have been published by IJBC, JAAC, ND, et,al., from 2018 to 2021.

Introduction to the Lecturer:Li Jibin, a national expert with outstanding contributions, is the first (1991) winner of the special allowance of the State Council. He has been served as a second-class professor of Kunming University of Science and Technology, distinguished professor and doctoral tutor of Zhejiang Normal University and Huaqiao University, and the head of Dynamic System and Nonlinear Research Center. He is also a member of the Mathematics Evaluation Expert Panel of the National Natural Science Foundation of China for four times, chairman of the Yunnan Mathematics Society for three times, deputy director of Yunnan Institute of Applied Mathematics, and dean of the School of Science of Kunming University of Science and Technology. He is an editorial board member of national and international journals such asApplied Mathematicsand JAAC; and a commentator of AmericanMathematics Reviewsand GermanMathematics Digest. He has presided over more than 10 key programs and general programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, published more than 260 papers, published more than 10 Chinese and English Monographs via the "Science Press", edited two teaching materials and published two popular science books. Over 30 years, he has trained more than 70 masters and doctoral students. For his scientific research achievements, he has won the first prize of Natural Science in Yunnan Province and the first prize of Science and Technology in Zhejiang Province. For his teaching achievements, he has won the second prize of the 2001 National Teaching Achievement Award of the Ministry of Education. From 1987 to 2018, he was invited to many universities and research institutions in the United States, Russia, France, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, Spain, Singapore, South Africa, Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan for scientific research cooperation and academic exchanges for more than 30 times.
