Abstract:

The main purpose of this talk is to declare and emphasize two important facts. The first one is the Lipschitz condition on spatial variables x that does not appear in the uniqueness of solution for the usual problems; and the second one is the matters that should be paid attention to when applying the embedding theorem.

Introduction to the Lecturer:

Wang Mingxin, distinguished professor, Class-II professor and doctoral supervisor of Harbin Institute of Technology, is a gainer of special government allowance from the State Council. In 1990, he got the degree of doctor of science. From 1990 to 1994, he did two-station post-doctoral research in the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He served as the vice president of Jiangsu Mathematical Society, the assistant dean of the School of Science, the head of the Department of Mathematics, the discipline head of master and doctor programs in Applied Mathematics, the Class-II professor and the distinguished professor of Southeast University, as well as the chief scientist of the key discipline "Applied Mathematics" in Jiangsu Province. He has published more than 270 papers in international famous academic journals such asProc. London Math. Soc.,Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.,Indiana Univ. Math. J.,SIAM J. Math. Anal.,SIAM J. Appl. Math.,among which 11 are highly cited papers (one is listed in China's 100 most influential international academic papers in 2015). Science Press has published his five monographs (four are written alone and one jointly), Higher Education Press has published his one monograph (written alone), CRC Press has published his English book "Nonlinear Seconder Order Parabolic Equations", and Tsinghua University Press has published his four textbooks. In addition, he has participated in the compilation of "Dictionary of Mathematics" (chief editor: Wang Yuan) published by Science Press. As the first prize winner, he has won the Second Prize of Natural Science of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Jiangsu Province and the Third Prize of Science and Technology Progress of the Ministry of Education respectively. He has also won the Youth Science and Technology Prize of Henan Province, the nomination award of the First Young Scientist Award of Jiangsu Province, the excellent faculty adviser award of Jiangsu Province and the Huaying Culture and Education Fund Award. He has successfully presided over and accomplished 9 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and one project is ongoing. In addition, he has successfully presided over and accomplished 9 provincial and ministerial-level projects.
