Keynote speaker: Cai Li

Abstract:

A geometric model of human heart valves is built based on CT/MRI of the heart valves, and the parameters of the valves' constitutive model are calculated based on the mechanical experimental data, and then the fiber distribution is generated by a rule-based method to calculate the valve stress. Then, the valve stress is substituted into the NS equation to get the immersion boundary model of FSI numerical simulation of heart valves, then the model is solved through the finite element method and the finite difference method and in the end the mechanical characteristics of the valves are analyzed.

Introduction to the Speaker:

Cai Li, professor and doctoral supervisor of Northwestern Polytechnical University, associate dean of the Honors College, deputy director of Xi'an Key Laboratory of Scientific Computation and Applied Statistics, director of the International Joint Laboratory of Cardiac Calculation and Application between Northwestern Polytechnical University and University of Glasgow, and a member of the standing committee of China Society for Computational Mathematics. He is mainly engaged in the research on the theory and application of numerical methods of partial differential equations, and has successively presided over three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and two projects funded by the Natural Science Foundation of Shaanxi Province. He has published more than 50 SCI papers in important academic journals at home and abroad. He has been rated as an outstanding young teacher of Northwestern Polytechnical University (outstanding winner) and won a first prize of the Scientific and Technical Awards for Institutions of Higher Learning of Shaanxi Province, a second prize of the Scientific and Technical Awards of Shaanxi Province and a second prize of the Teaching Achievement Awards of Higher Education of Shaanxi Province.
