A finite volume framework for 2D Euler equations

Abstract:

In this talk, focusing on steady Euler equations and reactive Euler equations, our recent work on a finite volume framework of the numerical solutions will be described, including the motivation, numerical challenges, algorithm design and realization, etc. A variety of numerical experiments will be demonstrated for the effectiveness and performance of our method.

Speaker Introduction:

Hu Guanghui received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Sichuan University, and his PhD from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2010, supervised by Academician Tang Tao. He was a visiting scholar at Michigan State University from 2010 to 2012, and is currently a professor and PhD supervisor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Macau. He is mainly engaged in adaptive high-precision methods of and theoretical research on partial differential equations, and his research interests include density functional theory, computational fluid dynamics, etc. He presided over more than 10 projects, including Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Youth Science Foundation, Science and Technology Development Fund, project of the University of Macau, etc. He developed Euler equation solver AFVM4CFD, density functional theory solver AFEABIC, etc. He published more than 20 high-level SCI papers in international computational mathematics journals. He won the FST Teaching Excellence Award of the University of Macau, Best Thesis Award of the Hong Kong Mathematical Society, etc.
